      Hi all,

I was wondering, is there any way to use the item attributes to filter the list of choices in the configurator.

My scenario is that I have multiple motors with different HP, Voltage and motor type. We could have new motors in the future. Ideally, we would like the user to simply enter the item and their attribute in BC and the new motor would fall into the right choices of the configurator. The choices would be based on the selection by the user of the HP, Voltage and Motor type.

I assume, this cannot be done out of the box (if it is, that would be fantastic) if it cannot, do you think their would be any option for me to extend the configurator to use item attributes .

      Thanks in advance 🙂

        Hello Guillaume,

Using the Item Attributes to filter Option Choices would require an enhancement.

However, you may find the Rule Builder feature useful to design which choices can be selected based on constraints applied within a particular rule.

Here is a link to our Knowledge Base article exploring the Rule Builder feature:

        Thank you,

          Thank you Terri,

This is what I suspected 🙂 Is there any documentation on how we could extend it. I tried looking at the different triggers in the tables and the pages but they seem to be hidden or maybe in some code unit I am not aware of.

            Hello Guillaume,

In our latest updated version of the Product Configurator 3.9, we’ve added a feature you might find useful called Item Attribute Mapping.

You can map, or copy, the configuration’s Options Choices and quantities to the Item attributes for the configured item.

            Thank you,
