      Hello, I am trying to dynamically put data into the Item description using Product Configurator. I have looked at the knowledge article Text Template Variables – Insight Works Knowledge Base (dmsiworks.com) but cannot get the description to pull through.

      My configurator Option Code is Assembly and I have only two component choices Hose and Ferrule. So I wish to pull through   {Hose.ItemDesc}  and {Ferrule.ItemDesc} as the description for the new item.

      I have tried various combinations in the Item Description Template on the Configurator Item Categories page but cannot see where I am going wrong.

      Does anyone have a working example or any suggestions please.

        Hello Bruce,

        You can get the Extended Text to display for any Option Choice ‘Type’ by using Text Template Variables. You may be missing additional setup to use this feature.

        Ensure that you have ‘Add Extended Text’ toggled to ‘Yes’ under your Option Choices.

        Ensure that your configured or quoting item has ‘Automatic Ext. Text’ toggled to ‘Yes’. You’ll find this setting under the Item card.
