Hello Mahsoune,

In order to troubleshoot this issue we will require some information from you.

        • What version number of NAV/Business Central are you using?
        • Is your NAV/BC a SaaS (cloud) or OnPrem installation?
        • What model of scanner are you trying to connect with?

For security reasons please do not reply with this information on the forum, instead send this information to us using a ticket through your support portal.

            Hi Mahsoune,

This error sounds like it is being thrown by the web service you are using to connect the scanner to your Business Central environment.

You can verify the web service URL on the scanner by copying the web service URL from the configure menu and pasting it into a browser on the scanner. If the URL does not connect on the scanner, verify the web service is running through the IIS installed on your server and test the URL with the “Browse: 8081” function. If it does connect then the web service on your server may not be configured correctly and you should reach out to your Business Central partner to troubleshoot further.

              Hi Steven

I have already verified the web service URL on the scanner by copying the web service URL from the configure menu and pasting it into a browser on the scanner, but i had the error :

Warehouse Insight WebService

This web service is used for handheld scanners to interact with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and the Warehouse Insight (WHI).

              ….

                Hi Mahsoune,

Because you can connect with the browser on the scanner, and not the Warehouse Insight app , this means that the Internet Information Services on your server is denying the connection based on it’s method type. The IIS needs to be configured to allow connections with a POST method to connect to your Business Central environment. This service should be configured by your Business Central Partner.

                  Hi Steven,

No, i can’t connect neither with the browser on the scanner nor with Warehouse Insight app. With both, i have the same error :

Warehouse Insight WebService

This web service is used for handheld scanners to interact with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and the Warehouse Insight (WHI).

                      Hi Mahsoune,

The message you are seeing in the browser is not an error, this is what you should be seeing if the browser is able to connect to the web service.

This error still sounds like it is being generated by your IIS, which would have been setup by whoever is in charge of your server. I recommend reaching out to your Business Central partner to have this issue resolved.

                        Hi Steven,

Related to the message i still have (Error “v2.4.7684.2” The request failed with HTTP status 405: MethodNot Allowed), i’d like to inform you about device’s models i’m using for test :

                        1- Unitech EA502 : P/N = EA502-QALRUMSG

                        2- Honeywell EDA40 : P/N = EDA40-1-BC33QGRK

Would mind telling me if i need to intall some Addin or i need to change the Model.

                        Cheers,

                          Hi Mahsoune,

The issue is not being generated by the scanners, it is coming from the IIS service installed on your server. Because of this there is nothing that can be added to the scanners to get this functioning properly. You need to reach out to either your IT or your Business Central Partner, whoever is in charge of your OnPrem server, and have them investigate and resolve the issue.
