    This is a requirement from our client and it appears to not be possible in the free version at least. Am I right about that? Would it be possible in the paid version?

    Scenario: Client wants to use the S/N as an additional verification that the item picked by the warehouse is the correct one. They want to see an error if they scan a S/N that is not entered in Item Tracking Lines on the SO line.

    When a S/N has been assigned in Item Tracking Lines on the SO and I am going to Ship, I get prompted to enter the S/N but if I choose a different S/N it takes it. If I then look at the shipment quantities I see 2 lines. One for each S/N. The one entered in ITL on the SO and the S/N I scanned. If I try to post I get an error but it’s about quantities, not about the S/N.

    Hi Jeff,

    Validating the scanned S/N against pre-defined Item Tracking Lines would be possible by extending Warehouse Insight (our full paid product). It’s not possible in WMS Express (our free product) as WMS Express is not extendable. The default behavior is the same for both WMS Express and Warehouse Insight as you described. If the user scans a S/N and it doesn’t match any of the existing Item Tracking Lines, a new Item Tracking Line will be created for it. The unwanted Item Tracking Lines would then need to be deleted to be able to post the shipment.
