      Hello.

      We have installed NAVXtender in a NAV 2018 environmet and since 3 weeks we have been receiving this error message

      ERROR: Could not process Outlook Message: File xxxx.msg is using by other program.

      File is a temp file created in drag/drop proccess.

      This customer works with NAVXtender from years and they have not problems until now.

      Could you help us?

        The file needs to be dragged directly from Windows File Explorer instead of from an application. Direct application dragging might work occasionally, but is not supported.

          This customer have been working with NavXtender since 2019 and they use drag/drop option from Outlook to NAV client without problems, could it be possible that this issure is related to Outlook/Windows recently updates?

            There are a whole slew of levels of security between the app (Outlook) and the operating system that affect the storage of temp files that are used for drag & drop. This is not an exhaustive list, but it may give their IT some ideas of what to check if they want to attempt to get that function back: browser add-ons, firewall, anti-virus, anti-malware, popup blocker, spam blocker, PC security apps, VPN, app approvals, app updates, OS updates, domain permission, folder/drive permission.

            All of these are out of our control or ability to diagnose which is why dragging from an application is not supported by NavXtender.
