      Hello,

We had a sales order that wouldn’t close after everything but one item was shipped.  The item was never packed into a LP and was deleted from the order, but the order wouldn’t close and remained in the open sales order screen.  Attempt to delete the SO resulted in error that ‘line 2000’ was associated to LP000848, but that item wasn’t in the LP.  I deleted the LP and tried again, but the error just pointed to the next LP which was in fact for the same order.  All in all, I ended up deleting 4 LP’s (all of the LP’s from that shipment) and then it finally succeeded in deleting the sales order.

It was a bit heavy-handed to do it that way, but what’s done is done.  Now I’m wondering if there are any repercussions to deleting LP’s in these situations?

        Hello Keith,

From the information provided, you could close the Sales Order (SO) by fully shipping/invoicing the SO and creating a credit memo to reverse the item you don’t want to ship.

Since you have deleted the License Plates (LP), I don’t see any obvious issue because the LPs are actually wrappers which doesn’t affect inventory. You will have a gap for the deleted LPs if someone wants to report on LPs.

        Thank you,
