This was raised in the forums 4 years ago (https://kb.dmsiworks.com/topic/license-plate-consumption/) and the reply was that this is coming, and a year ago Support told me the same thing but still not implemented.
So here is a feature request for this to please add the ability to partially consume a license plate against a production order in the product – the logic is there for sales picking and just needs to be replicated for Production (and maybe Assembly) Consumption.
