      I am trying to use the “Insight Works Barcode Rules” to query a custom field that I have added to the item card.  Specifically, I want to add a customer barcode field that allows for customer barcodes that are longer than the character length provided by the GIN field.

        Instead of making a custom field, I would recommend talking to your Business Central partner about how to add that text into the built-in “Item Reference” section of the item card which has much longer fields that are made for exactly this kind of scenario. Then you just need to add a barcode pointing at the Item Reference in order to use this value out of the box:

        If you still want to use a custom field, you will need to email support@dmsiworks.com to get an extension created.
