      Hi:

I imported journal entries directly into Business Central’s table 81, in a test environment.

These entries are, now, displaying in the “General Ledger Entries” screen.

Does this mean that the Import Export PowerTool can import data into posted tables?

I ask, because “General Ledger Entries” to me has always represented the posted General Ledger data of Business Central.

      Thanks!

      John

The Import Export PowerTool does not do any data analysis other than applying any filters that you set. The data needs to follow all the same rules as with a configuration package. If you have any questions about table import restrictions, you would need to talk to Microsoft.

Most ledger tables are protected, so they are not editable in Business Central. Microsoft simply does not allow for them to be edited or deleted for audit purposes, so you cannot use the Import Export PowerTool (even with Protected Tables = Allow Access on the Import Export PowerTool Setup page). You will need to offset these values with journal entries. This includes tables like General Ledger Entries, Job Ledger Entries, Bank Ledger Entry tables, Physical Inventory Ledger Entry, Change Log Entries.
