When importing data to the customer card the tool is removing multiple, consecutive spaces in values targeted to Text fields.  For example, when the source value is “Test      Six Spaces”, the value inserted into the text field is “Test Six Spaces”.  The 6 spaces between the first two words are replaced with one space.

While I like the fact that this helps us clean bad data, it is making it difficult for us to validate data when we compare source and target values.

I tested the same import using a Config Package and the extra spaces were not removed.

Is there a way to keep the extra spaces when importing this data?

      Thank you for your help!

        Hello Frank,

The Import Export Power Tool does not account for whitespace out of the box.

There would need to be additional logic added to register the whitespaces as individual characters.

        Thank you,

          Thanks Terri.

So, for clarity, the tool will always remove more than one consecutive space between words when uploading data.  Correct?

I think it is a great tool.  I just want to better understand what to expect.  Do you offer paid options for support or consultation?

          Thank you.
