      I’m working on doing ad hoc moves where I want to pull items from a single bin and place to multiple bins.  Is this possible using one line in the ad hoc move?  If not, what is the simplest way to add multiple lines without copying an existing line related to the original source bin?

        Hey David,

        The Adhoc Move application in Warehouse Insight uses the Item Reclassification Journal in Business Central, which restricts a line to one take bin and one place bin, so you would need as many lines as you have desired place bins. If you know in advance the quantity of the item going to the separate bins is and have the “Auto Switch to Place” device configuration set to “No”, you could scan the item label to create the lines you need at the take bin then assign each line’s Place bin as you physically place the items in that bin.
        If you don’t know how much of each item you would be placing in separate bins, then the copy line menu action would be the simplest way.

          Thanks for the information.  This makes sense since it is a remote method for conducting the item reclass journal.

          Have tried scanning to create new lines for the same item, but have not had success.  Auto Switch to Place is turned off so we can populate multiple lines from different bins and different products, and that has worked.

           

          So from what I’m seeing it might be best to create a line with zero quantity, copy that, and modify the corresponding line quantities before adding any type of place bin on any of the lines.
