Use Test Generation Rule Trigger to Automate Creation of Quality Inspection Tests

You are here:

The automation trigger fields on the Quality Inspector Setup page define the default trigger value used when creating new test generation rules. The Quality Inspection Test Generation Rules list also provides an Activation Trigger field, which can be used to differentiate between rules that should be used for manual test creation, automated test creation, both manual and automated creation, or disabled rules.

Create a Test Generation Rule

When creating a Test Generation Rule, the rule’s intent is determined by a combination of the rule’s table and condition filter. For example, the Purchase Trigger is available for rules that use the Purchase Line table, and the Production Trigger is available for rules using the Item Journal Line table and a Condition Filter specifying an Entry Type = Output. Rules continue to be evaluated based on Sort Order.

The Activation Trigger value is also used when determining which rules are considered for a given scenario. Tests are automatically generated from rules that have the Manual or Automatic or Automatic Only value. Tests are generated via a manual action from rules that have the Manual or Automatic or Manual Only value. Rules with an Disabled Activation Trigger are not considered.
