Quality Inspector provides the ability to record notes for each measurement specification in a Quality Inspection Test.

To allow Quality Inspectors and individuals to see or edit notes, complete the following:

1. Navigate to Quality Inspectors and Quality Inspection Permissions in Business Central.
2. Configure Edit Line Note/Comment per quality inspector:
   • Read-Only: The user can see the note but cannot change it.
   • Editable: The user can see the note and can record/edit notes.
   • Hidden: The user cannot see or edit notes.

Changes are saved automatically.

Record a note

Before beginning, ensure Quality Inspector has the Editable permission configured in Quality Inspectors and Quality Inspection Permissions. See above for steps.

1. Navigate to Quality Inspection Tests in Business Central.
2. Open the required Quality Inspection Test.
3. Select the line to make a note on.
4. Edit the Test Value field if needed.
5. Edit the note in the Note column (longer text can be edited by selecting the … button).

The measurement note is now stored.

Measurement notes are available on some reports, but not all.  For example, the note is available on the Inspection Report, but not the Certificate of Analysis report.
