Troubleshoot SSL Certificate

You are here:

If you have been directed to this page via the Shop Floor Insight installer application, there is an issue with the SSL certificate that you have attempted to bind to the service. The following troubleshooting steps assist with resolving potential issues.

Your certificate may be missing from the certificate store or may be missing the exportable private key. Complete the following to resolve the issue:

  1. Open the certlm.msc snap-in (Windows Certificate Manager)
  2. Navigate to Personal / Certificates.
  3. Ensure your target SSL certificate is imported.
  4. Open the certificate and check for the following message on the General tab: “You have a private key that corresponds to this certificate.”
  5. Complete one of the following if needed:
    1. If the private key is missing: Re-import the certificate with the private key included (e.g., a PFX file).
    2. If the private key is not marked as exportable or is missing: Export the certificate with the private key from the original source (e.g., a PFX file).
  6. Re-import the PFX file:
    1. Right-click Personal / Certificates / select Import.
    2. Mark this key as exportable during the import process.
