Signing In

You are here:

Windows Sign In

To sign in using Windows, scan the Login barcode provided in Step 3 of the Install report (generated in Assisted Setup on the Extension Installation page) or enter the username and password (Web Service Key) manually.

If you are using an On Premise installation, the password is your NavUserPassword.

OAuth Sign In

Click the Sign In button to enter your credentials.

If you have two factor authentication enabled, you are prompted to accept the secondary authentication.

If this is your first time running and connecting to Business Central, you are prompted to accept the application registration for your company. Once accepted, this prompt no longer appears.

    Our users are getting an “Invalid Username or Password” error when trying to enter the insight works user credentials. We are sure they are correct. A stack trace from the event logged by BC is below. Is there anything else which could cause this other than the username or password being wrong?

      Hello David,

      There is a possibility that the account prior to the login of the Insight Works User may be the one with the expired credentials.

      It would be worth checking by disabling the ‘Use Additional Insight Works’ login and just trying to login with the initial account, Microsoft login page for Saas or Windows login page for On-Prem. If you’re not able to authenticate using this first account, it may indicate that this is the account with the authentication issue such as an expired password.

    After logging in, I get the error “Unexpected character encountered while parsing value: how do I solve this?

      Hello Fyne,

      There are a few things that can trigger this prompt:

      • Ensure that the version of the Warehouse application matches the version of Warehouse Insights you have installed in Business Central
      • Ensure that the user is a non-delegated user account which means that the user must be using an account within the tenant, and you are not using the partner Business Central email credentials to sign in where the @companydomain doesn’t match the tenant domain.
      • Review the configuration details (device configuration code, web service URL, company name)
      • Sign out and/or clear cached credentials
      • Ensure user has a valid BC license assigned (essentials/premium, or device license. Not delegated admin)

    Hi Bob,

    Using the camera for scanning barcodes is supported with Warehouse Insight’s apk version 2.1 and up. To access the capability in Warehouse Insight -> Options (|||) -> Configure -> (|||) -> Barcoding ->Enable “Use Camera” and make sure to give the appropriate rights for the app as instructed.

    This will give you a camera icon on the top right that you can click and then scan via camera.

    Although you get a printout with the barcodes, with the android sign-in, the camera option is not available so you have to type in the web soap address. I am using my android phone. Would be nice if there was a camera icon so you can scan the barcode.
