Safety Log Card Overview

You are here:

The following sections provide a detailed overview of the Safety Logbook’s sections and capabilities.

General section

The General Section serves as the foundation of the safety log. In this section, you provide an overview of the incident, including the following:

  • Description: A detailed account of the incident.
  • Log Type: Selected from a user-managed Log Type table, allowing flexibility in classifying incidents.
  • Event Date-Time: The exact date and time of the event.
  • Duration, Estimated Lost Time, and Actual Lost Time: These fields track how long the event lasted, and the estimated and actual downtime caused by the incident.
  • Potential Severity, Actual Severity, and Probability: Select the potential and actual severity of the incident from a predefined list, along with the probability rating of it happening again.
  • Risk Priority Code: Choose from a predefined list to indicate the incident’s risk priority based on the assessment.

Employee section

The Employees Section links the relevant individuals to the safety log. You can select employees from the base Business Central Employees table, ensuring all involved personnel—whether they are injured, witnesses, or otherwise related to the event—are documented. This helps track who was involved for follow-up actions and compliance purposes.

You can also add multiple employees. On the action bar, under Process, click Add Multiple Employees.

Comments section

In the Comments Section, add important notes and updates about the incident.

Injury section

The Injury Section is where you detail the specific injury-related information:

  • Body Side: Identifies which side of the body was affected.
  • Body Part: Specifies the exact body part involved.
  • Injury Event: Describes the event that caused the injury.
  • Injury Type: Classifies the injury.

Actions section

In the Actions Section, track the follow-up steps needed to address the incident and prevent recurrence:

  • Follow-up Training: Determines if training is required and marks it as complete once done.
  • Work Practice Review and Engineering Review: Indicates whether reviews of work practices or engineering controls are required and track their completion.
  • Root Cause Address: A yes/no field to verify if the root cause of the incident has been addressed.

Organization section

The Organization Section captures important organizational details related to the incident:

  • Asset No: Specific asset(s) linked to the incident.
  • Department Code: Department(s) linked to the incident.
  • Project Code: Project(s) linked to the incident.
  • Location Code: Location(s) linked to the incident.
  • Government Claim No: Records any relevant government claim numbers tied to the event, ensuring proper documentation for legal or compliance purposes.

Related Logs section

The Related Logs Section allows you to associate other relevant safety logs with the current incident. This dropdown list provides a quick way to link previous logs, inspections, or audits, helping identify patterns or related incidents that could be useful for understanding the broader context.
