New Feature Description
Ability to record multiple samples on a test New ability to record multiple samples for a test. Configure fields to collect multiple samples and have the ability to fail a test when an AQL rejection limit has been reached while collecting samples.
API hook OnBeforeGetDefaultMaximumRowsToShowInLookup Improved maximum data to be collected on table lookups by making the maximum rows configurable and introducing a new API hook OnBeforeGetDefaultMaximumRowsToShowInLookup.

Improvements

Improvement Description
Ability to define attachments Users can define attachments (but not record links) on the template and be visible on each test. Users cannot alter them, but they can use the template attachments to read related documentation for the templates.
Additional API changes Made additional methods in codeunit “IWX QI Grade Condition Mgmt.” public.

Resolved Too many key fields error Resolved Too many key fields error when using finish receipt validation with warehouse receipts on incoming transfer orders.

Business Central 24 compatibility Quality Inspector 7.15.8846.1 is the current listed AppSource version; this version addresses Business Central 24 compatibility and is not available for Business Central 23 environments.

New Features

Feature Description
Camera for Document Intelligence There is an additional action when filling out a test to allow scanning with a camera directly (in addition to options for uploading a form).
Renaming The Form Recognizer was renamed to Document Intelligence.
AI features visible by default The option to use experimental AI features is no longer hidden in experimental mode. The option is visible by default in the Quality Inspector Setup page (available in SaaS 23.0 and newer).

API Improvements
  • Introduced additional hooks OnBeforeFindLineUpdateGradeFromLines and OnAfterFindLineUpdateGradeFromLines.
  • Per-tenant-extensions can now use GetPromotedGradesForTestLine.
  • Per-tenant-extensions can now use GetBasicPersonDetailsFromTestLine.
Process Improvements
  • Improved grade state change evaluation for checklist-style of questions.
  • Introduced ability to choose whether to automatically assign a test.
  • Added an additional action on the item tracking page to simplify creating multiple tests.
  • Added an additional action on some pages to help identify tests for the document and item.
Usability Improvements
  • Introduced a warning message when mapping multiple custom fields.
  • Move Inventory action is now visible by default.
  • Added ability to open a source document from a test.
  • Added reference data links to the Quality Inspector Role Center.
  • Improved usability of choosing a lot number for a test.
  • Improved usability of editing fields from within a template.

Extensibility Improvement Additional custom numerical fields have been added to the test to assist with simple numerical mappings. “Source Custom 7” and “Source Custom 8” are available as Integer fields and “Source Custom 9” and “Source Custom 10” are available as Decimal fields.
Location Code Field Added A location code field has been added to the Quality Inspection Test. Existing installs may need to update their source table configuration to manually add the location field. Previously created tests will not have this field filled in.
Improved Error Messages Improved error message when creating tests against temporary/buffer tables.
Added Disposition A disposition to automatically quarantine or un-quarantine a license plate has been added. You must have a minimum of Business Central 14 to use this feature.
Configurable data caption Data caption for tests is now configurable per template.
Automatically or manually create a Warehouse Internal Put-Away An ability to automatically or to manually create a Warehouse Internal Put-away has been added. To use this feature, you must be using a directed pick and put-away location, a lot warehouse tracked item, and Business Central 16 or newer.
Sample Report Improvements Improved report designs on the sample reports. You can download example reports here.
Business Central 22 and newer Added ability to have tests available in the Find Entries page, searching for the lot number and document number.
Azure Form Recognizer Added experimental feature using Azure Form Recognizer. This feature has no testing and is currently soliciting feedback.
Field sub-form updating Added a fix to address an issue where the field editor sub-form didn’t always update after changing the selected field from the field list.

Certificate of Analysis A basic Certificate of Analysis report has been added.
Configurable grade system A Test Result state of Incomplete, Pass, Fail has been replaced with a configurable grade system, allowing multiple pass and multiple fail states. This also replaces the Fail code.
Ability to collect source details from related records Introduced an ability to chain tables together to allow collecting source details from related records.
Automatic document creation Introduced automatic triggers for automatic document creation for common production events and common receiving events.
Configuration allowing you to see/not see quality inspection Introduced configuration allowing you to choose whether you want to see a quality inspection in Business Central after it’s been created.
Quality inspection document no. Quality inspections now have a document no., making it easier to integrate with several other scenarios and use as a certificate number.
Multiple quality inspections for same record Multiple quality inspections on the same record, without a retest, are now possible.
Granular functional permissions Introduced refined permissions, to allow more specific configuration on capabilities such as creating re-tests, deleting tests, finishing tests, and more.
