The following release notes contain updates made to Product Configurator. Listed below are the versions and their new features, improvements, and fixes. Please refer to the following information pertaining to your version of Product Configurator. Upgrade to the current version of the application to access new features, improvements, and fixes.

New Features

New feature Description
Use filter values for Show Choice and Hide Choice Added the ability to use filter values for the Show Choice and Hide Choice option choice rule actions.
Add Extended Details Page Added the Extended Details page to display all option choices (including child choices) included in the configured item. The page can be accessed from the BOM Designer and BOM Details pages.

Improvements and Fixes

Improvement or fix Description
Prevent Blank Values on Key Fields in Core Tables Updated the core tables to disallow blank values for key fields. This includes the Item Category Code field in the Configurator Item Category table, the Code field in the Configurator Option table, and the Code field in the Configurator Option Choice table.
Option Choices Disallows Blank Numbers When Type is not Text Updated the logic to require the number when the option choice is not set for the Text type.
BOM Designer’s Option Description Acts as the Page Selection Updated the logic in the BOM Designer when in lookup mode where the option description acts as the record selection for the page and can close the page.
Check for Blank Item Number on Sales Line Updated the logic to check for blank item numbers on the sales line when loading the BOM Designer and Bulk Editor.
Check sales Document Status When Loading the BOM Designer and Bulk Editor Updated the logic to check the sales document status when loading the BOM Designer and Bulk Editor from the sales line. If the status is not Open, the user is prompted to continue.
Text Template Variables do not Blank When no Choice is Selected Updated the logic to blank the text template variable when no choice option is selected.
Option Descriptions do not Use Indented Value Updated the logic to not use the indented value for the option description in the text template variables.
Indent configurator options does not set display order Updated the logic in the Indent Options action to set the sort on the display order.
Renaming option code results in warnings Updated the logic in the Configurator Options page when renaming option codes to prevent undesirable warning messages.
Update Configurator Options page caption Updated the page caption for the Configurator Options page to show the item category.
Copy item category does not update target rule ID Updated the logic in the Copy Item Category action to update the Target Rule ID in the rule actions when including rule definitions.
Renaming item category does not update rule category code Updated the logic when renaming the item category to update the rule category code in the rule definitions.

Allow Child Option Choices in Extended Text Updated the extended text functionality to consider child option choices.
Allow Hidden Options in Extended Text Updated the extended text functionality to consider hidden options.
Set Routing Link Code for Sub-Configurations Added the ability to set the routing link code for the sub-configured item (e.g., option choices where type is configuration) when it is added to the configured item’s production BOM.
Add Event After Building Temporary Configurator BOM Added the “OnAfterBuildTempConfiguratorBOM WithItemCategoryCode” event, which is called after building the configuration’s initial temporary configurator BOM.
Add Event Before Configuring the Sub-Configuration Added the “OnBeforeConfigureSubConfigurationWithParentConfiguratorBOM” event, which is called before configuring the parent configuration’s sub-configuration.
Added Event after Creating the Item Description Added the “OnAfterCreateDescriptionTextWithItemCategoryCode AndConfiguratorBOMBuffer” event, which is called after creating the configured’s description text.

Improvements and Fixes

Improvement or fix Description
General Logic Refactoring to Improve Usability and Extensibility Updated the logic in different areas to improve usability and extensibility.
Update Option Choice Lookup for Additional Choices Updated the logic to refresh the option choice lookup when new additional choices are added.
Update Bulk Editor When no Options are set For Visibility Updated the bulk editor to allow the page to open for an existing configured item where its item category has no options set for bulk editor visibility.
