This feature controls how Dynamic Ship redirects you from a Sales Order or Warehouse Pick to a Warehouse Shipment during shipping.

Starting in Dynamic Ship 2.9, scanning a Sales Order with an associated Warehouse Shipment can open the Warehouse Shipment instead.

Document redirection settings

Configure redirection behaviour in Dynamic Ship Setup under the Warehouse Shipments tab. These settings control which document the Package Worksheet opens during shipping.

Redirect to Warehouse Shipment

This setting controls what happens when you scan a Sales Order number.

• Never Redirect: The Package Worksheet opens the Sales Order.
• Only Redirect Shipment Locations: The Package Worksheet attempts to open the Warehouse Shipment when the location requires shipments and falls back to opening the sales order if no warehouse shipment is found.
• Only Redirect Shipment Locations & Force: The Package Worksheet requires a Warehouse Shipment for shipment locations. You cannot pack from the Sales Order until the Warehouse Shipment exists.
• Always Redirect: The Package Worksheet opens the Warehouse Shipment when one exists, regardless of location setup.
• Always Redirect & Force Shipment Locations: The Package Worksheet always opens the Warehouse Shipment and, for locations that require shipments, prevents packing until a Warehouse Shipment exists.

Redirect with Multiple Warehouse Shipments

This setting controls what happens when more than one Warehouse Shipment exists for a Sales Order.

• Prompt: The Package Worksheet prompts you to choose a Warehouse Shipment.
• First Warehouse Shipment: The Package Worksheet opens the first Warehouse Shipment.
• Last Warehouse Shipment: The Package Worksheet opens the most recent Warehouse Shipment.

Redirect Warehouse Pick to Warehouse Shipment

This setting controls what happens when you scan a Warehouse Pick.

1. Never: The Package Worksheet indicates an Unknown Scan.
2. Always: The Package Worksheet opens the related Warehouse Shipment.

Important Notes

If Shipment locations require Warehouse Shipments, it is important to note the following:

1. When you enable a Force option and no Warehouse Shipment exists, the Package Worksheet prevents you from packing the Sales Order until you create one.
2. Only Redirect Shipment Locations & Force works well as a default because it prevents user error of accidentally packing into Sales Orders when the location needs shipments.
3. Use Always Redirect when Warehouse Shipments are commonly created and you want the Package Worksheet to consistently open them, even in locations that do not require shipments.

When multiple Warehouse Shipments exist, the Package Worksheet can prompt you to choose, or it can automatically open the first or last shipment based on your configuration.

Redirecting from a Warehouse Pick to a Warehouse Shipment helps when you have a pick number but not the related shipment or Sales Order. Earlier versions required customization for this behavior, but Dynamic Ship now includes it as a standard option.
