Post and Print Outbound Orders

The Post and Print Outbound Orders app add-on for Warehouse Insight allows users to print outbound documents when posting from the scanner. This article guides you through the key features and steps required to install and use the Post and Print Outbound Orders app.

Key Features

In Business Central, in the Warehouse Insight Device Configuration Card, under the Shipping tab, three new fields have been added: Print Sales Shipment, Print Transfer Shipment, and Print Purchase Return. When you set these fields to “Yes”, the related report is printed.

Prerequisites

Post and Print Outbound Orders is an add-on for Warehouse Insight 2.13. Before installing, you must install and configure Warehouse Insight 2.13 or newer in Business Central.

Install

To install the Post and Print Outbound Orders app in Business Central, complete the following:

  1. Navigate to the Warehouse Insight Add-on Catalog in Business Central.
  2. Select Post and Print Outbound Orders and select Install.

This installs all data required to run the Post and Print Outbound Orders app, including the extension app file, the Warehouse Insight applications, and supporting data (menus, columns, and more).

Once you have completed installation, navigate to the Warehouse Insight Device Configurations and set up which outbound orders will be printed.

User Guide

Users can post and print outbound orders by doing the following:

  1. Navigate to Warehouse Insight Device Configurations in Business Central.
  2. Configure the Print fields for outbound documents.

Source Code

The source code is publicly available and provided as is. It is available for you to expand on as required for your specific process, or to use as an example for other similar changesets.

Uninstall

Below are the steps to remove the Post and Print Outbound Orders app. You must manually remove the extension and any configuration data. 

  1. Navigate to the Extension Management page in Business Central.
  2. Select the record for Subcontract Receiving.
  3. Select Uninstall in the Manage tab.
