Machine Alternate Constraints

You are here:

This IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints page allows you to define secondary constraints that depend on the specific work center or machine center an operation is scheduled on. Depending on how you have set up the machine alternate groups, this can be specific to the work center or machine center, an item and an operation schedule on, or a specific production order and operation on the defined work center or machine center.

These constraints are used when machine- and operation-specific tooling or highly skilled operators are required and cannot be defined at a higher level, such as the production order components. If the constraint is generic and applies whenever the work center or machine center is running, define the constraint on the Resource Requirements page. If the constraint applies based on the operation and is not specific to the work center and machine center, define the constraint in the production bill of materials.

Page Field/Control Name Caption ToolTip
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Alternate Group No. Alternate Group No. Specifies the alternate group number the constraint applies to.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Capacity Type Capacity Type Specifies whether the record is for a work center or machine center.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Capacity No. Capacity No. Specifies the work center or machine center number this record applies to.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Alternate ID Alternate ID Specifies the alternate ID that the constraint applies to.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Item No. Item No. Specifies the item number used as the constraint.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Variant Code Variant Code Specifies the variant of the item number used as the constraint.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Resource ID Resource Group Specifies what items are used together as a group. Items with the same resource group value are consumed together. Different resource group values indicate alternate groups, and the system chooses only one group to use when scheduling.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Requirement ID Requirement Kit Specifies a code that allows you to define the same resource requirement more than once. This is never changed from the default value.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Consume From Consume From Specifies the point from when this item is to be consumed. Typically the start.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints From Segment From Segment Specifies the starting segment at which this item is required.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Consume To Consume To Specifies the point to when this item is to be consumed. Typically the end.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints To Segment To Segment Specifies the ending segment at which the item is required.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Release At Release At Specifies the point to when this item is to released. Typically the end. This value is irrelevant if the release segment is empty.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Release Segment Release Segment Specifies the segment at which the item is released. This must be empty if the item is consumed by the process.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Logic Logic Specifies the logic that indicates the consumption pattern for the item. Either fixed quantity or order quantity pro-rated.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Quantity Per Quantity Per Specifies the number of production order units for which the quantity required applies to. Ignored if the logic is fixed quantity.
IWX Mx Mcn. Alt. Constraints Quantity Required Quantity Required Specifies the number of units that are required of the item. Positive numbers consume while negative numbers replenish into the MxAPS internal inventory.
