The Generate Schedule page allows you to generate production schedules using the MxAPS scheduling engine. You start by choosing a range of production cells to schedule, then set a filter on the Production Order Routing Lines as desired. These choices determine what orders are considered during scheduling.

Generate an MxAPS schedule

The MxAPS Generate a Schedule page can be located either on the MxAPS Production Planner role center or simply by searching for it.

Modify the following fields when generating a schedule:

1. Leave the From Cell No.and To Cell No. fields as Main (default setting).
2. Update the Start Date (set to current date and time by default).
3. Enter the Schedule Duration (e.g., such as a few days, weeks, or the normal planning horizon; ensure this duration is long enough for sufficient capacity of all production orders or orders may be buffered).
4. Leave Schedule As on “Unlocked” unless needed (determines if newly scheduled operations are set to be locked to the machine they were scheduled on).
5. Set a Filter if needed (e.g., limit which  Order Routing Linesare included such as filter by production order status, item, or routing status).
6. Select a Scheduling Filter Set if needed (use when you have saved filter sets for repeatable scheduling scenarios).
7. Enter Global Lead Time if needed (use for items configured to use the global fence type).
8. Select Consider Manual Changes From if needed (use to run a new schedule to consider machine moves from a previous schedule result; sets the schedule result that manual moves should be read from).
9. Select Generate Schedule.

Sends information from Business Central to the MxAPS Scheduling engine, returning results when finished. Review the results for accuracy or if any further adjustments may be required prior to updating Production Orders.

Review the schedule result

After the schedule is generated, open MxAPS Schedule Result List to review historical schedule results. This page shows values such as generated date-time, scheduled by, starting date-time, ending date-time, order lines, order performance (unscheduled order lines, late order lines, early order lines), total setup time, and total run time.

Open a schedule result to view the MxAPS Schedule Summary. This page includes the Machine Schedule Summary and actions to inspect the result in more detail.
