How to Change the Date Format on the Shop Floor Insight client

Shop Floor Insight uses the Date Format setting on the Shop Floor Setup page to control how dates appear throughout the Shop Floor client.

Change the date format

  1. In Business Central, search for Shop Floor Setup.
  2. Go to the Client group.
  3. Click “Show More” in the Client group.
  4. In Date Format, enter the desired format.
  5. Close the setup page to save the change.
  6. Close and reopen the Shop Floor Insight browser or client on each workstation.

Common regional formats

The following examples use July 16, 2026:

The format is case-sensitive. For example:

  • d represents a two-digit day.
  • m represents a two-digit month.
  • Y represents a four-digit year.
  • M represents an abbreviated month name.
  • D represents an abbreviated weekday name.

Supported date format specifiers

Date format specifiers are case-sensitive. For example, m represents a numeric month, while M represents an abbreviated month name.

Day and weekday specifiers

Specifier Description Example
d Day of the month with a leading zero 01 through 31
D Abbreviated weekday name Mon through Sun
j Day of the month without a leading zero 1 through 31
l Full weekday name Sunday through Saturday
N ISO-8601 weekday number 1 for Monday through 7 for Sunday
S English ordinal suffix, typically used with j st, nd, rd or th
w Numeric weekday 0 for Sunday through 6 for Saturday
z Day number within the year, starting at zero 0 through 364, or 365 in a leap year

Week specifier

W ISO-8601 week number, with weeks beginning on Monday 01 through 53

Separators and text

Characters such as slashes, periods, hyphens, spaces and commas may be placed between the format specifiers.
