Group Time Cards in Shop Floor Insight

You are here:

Shop Floor Insight provides a basic ability for a supervisor to create a single card at a time and have it represent a group of individuals.

When the card is closed, it can create time cards representing payroll time for each individual.

The current available group scanning has limited use cases. If your group scanning needs are different, you can customize this behavior with small modifications.

Configuration

  1. Create a Shop Floor Activity to represent an employee on a time card.
  2. Select a Shop Floor Activity code that represents a group (used on the time card lines that represent employees).
  3. Select the Employee in Group checkbox.
  4. Create a Shop Floor Employee to represent the group (Work Center or Machine Center type only).
  1. Print the badge for this group employee.

Shop Floor Setup

On the Shop Floor Setup screen:

  1. Enable group scanning by setting “Group Scan” to “Allow Group Cards”
  2. Define which shop floor employees out of the work/machine centers can be used as groups in the Group Container Filter (affects scanning behavior).
  3. Define the group activity code to use.
  4. Set Group Time Distribution to “Payroll Time Only” (this is the only supported option; other options are for customizations only).

Usage

The expected usage is:

  1. Supervisor scans group badge.
  2. Supervisor scans badges of employees in the same group working on the same items (the system records these as special time card lines for the employee).
  3. Supervisor tracks job time on the group card.
  4. Supervisor selects End Shift when they are ready to end the shift, and time cards are created/updated for individuals scanned onto the group card.
