Generate, Execute, and Manage Maintenance Orders

You are here:

Using Maintenance Manager, you can generate, execute and manage maintenance orders effectively.

Generate maintenance orders

Use the Planning Worksheet in Business Central to review and create maintenance orders.

  1. Navigate to the Planning Worksheet page in Business Central.
  2. Select Prepare / Calculate Regenerative Plan…
  3. Modify the fields as needed.
  4. Select OK.

The Planning Worksheet is populated either from the maintenance task (Plan Task function), from the maintenance task list (Planning / Plan Maintenance Where Due (completes everything on the list at once), or Auto Schedule Tasks (whole list where due but allows you to also set a date range to create multiple into the future if duration-based).

Execute maintenance orders

  1. Review routings and BOMs from associated tasks.
  2. Update order status during execution, transitioning from Pending to In Progress to Completed.

If handling Maintenance Equipment Inventory, all order processing is the same as standard production orders (consumption/output).

If doing bin locations, auto posting is done on completing the equipment move back to the originating bin location.

If handling Maintenance Equipment with Zero Inventory, handle consumption as per normal production order operation; automatic posting of output is handled with finishing of the order where the inventory produced is automatically negatively adjusted back out of inventory.
