Dynamic Ship can email the tracking information for a shipment.
Search for “SMTP Mail Setup” to fill in email server settings. Note that there is a one-click button to “Apply Office 365 Server Settings” if that is what you use.
Note that DShip requires the User ID to be the full email address. Also, basic authentication has to be used for it to be successful as we need the User ID.
Keep in mind that the smtp setup is per company, not user.
Click the “Test Email Setup” button to make sure it works.
You should receive a email.
The customer will need a valid email address setup on their account.
Search for “Dynamic Ship Setup” to choose your preferences for the tracking email.
You can either trigger the email during the Get Label process, or after the document is posted. It’s important to note that the “After Post” trigger only works from within Dynamic Ship. If they open the order and post from there, it will not trigger the email.
You can choose from where the email should be retrieved in relation to the order, i.e. which field on the Sales Order to use to look up the Customer.
You will also need to define at least one email template to use. The Subject and Body are HTML. Any HTML that would be valid in an email is valid here. You can embed images or other external resources. Typically the marketing department of a company will create the layout to use.
Click on “Parameter Help” to see what variable text can be added to the email.
To set individual customers to use an alternate email address or template, open “Dynamic Ship Customer Options”:
Customer number & ship-to code are required. Shipping agent code and service code are optional and will be treated as generic if left blank.
