Create and Manage Tasks in Maintenance Manager

You are here:

Create corrective maintenance tasks

  2. Input the required details:
    • Maintenance Equipment Item No.
    • Task Description
    • Priority Code
  3. Select OK.

Create preventative maintenance tasks

  1. Select Maintenance Task on the Business Central page.
  2. Select New.
  3. Define the following in the General section:
    • Task Description
    • Maintenance Type: Corrective (no scheduling, one time), Preventive (all options), or Template (used to create multiple similar tasks from, no assignments).
    • Production BOM No. and Routing No.: Create/select appropriate records associated to the Maintenance Task that are used when creating Maintenance Orders (not what is listed on the Equipment Item Card). Ensure that the placeholder work center is listed in the routings.
    • Maintenance Order Nos.: Default in the Setup page; however, you can adjust to be a specific type of number series as required for when orders are created.
  4.  Define the following in the Schedule section:
    • Last Maintenance Date & Priority Code: Reference information.
    • Type and Output Count Unit of Measure: Options of Distance (km-/miles-/meters-based manual tracking recorded from completed maintenance orders), Runtime or Quantity (min/hr/day/qty with automatic updates from Capacity Type/No. as non-maintenance production orders are posted), Duration (day/week/month/year and works from the activation date forward).
    • Size: the frequency of when maintenance is performed; this value needs to be passed to trigger the “Maintenance Due” flag.
    • Effective Range Start and Effective Range End: If left as zero, values for both are treated to last indefinitely. If these are populated, this is the range of when the maintenance triggers. If the values are outside of the listed range start/end, maintenance does not trigger.
  5. Select the Maintenance Due checkbox to assign the maintenance task.
