Configure SharePoint Storage

You are here:
  1. Navigate to the DocXtender Setup page in Business Central.
  2. Set File Storage Behavior to SharePoint.
  3. Modify the fields in the SharePoint Storage section:
    • SharePoint Host: [yourcompanyname]
    • SharePoint Site: Set the site for the document to be saved to (optional).
    • SharePoint Folder: Set the folder for the document to be saved to (optional).

Documents are added to SharePoint in a folder structure consisting of: Record type > Record Key. For example, the record type as Sales Header and a sample Record Key would display as:

  • Sales Header > S-ORD101007

Instead of an Attachment in Business Central, the document is added as a link. On many pages, you must personalize the page by making the Links FactBox visible to see the linked documents.
