Configure Periodic Tests on any Lots Within a Certain Container in Quality Inspector

You are here:

You can create periodic tests, or scheduled tests, at specific times on specific days for lots within a certain container. For example, you can use this for regularly occurring microbial tests on vats.

This walkthrough also uses the common configuration for food if:

  • The location is configured to use bins.
  • Bins represent the container (e.g., a vat).
  • The lot is using lot warehouse tracking for the purpose of tracking where any given lot is at any point in time.
  • There is already a desired quality inspection template to use.
  • You have data to test with where you have lot warehouse tracked items in the desired bin.

Create a new schedule

  1. Navigate to the Quality Inspection Test Generation Rules list page in Business Central.
  2. Select +New and set the following:
    • Template Code: Set to the template you want to use for the periodic bin contents testing.
    • Table: Set to “Warehouse Entry” (table ID 7312).
    • Condition Filter: Set to restrict to the specific location and bin you create the periodic tests from.
  1. Move to the Schedule Group column (on the new test generation rule), and input a new schedule group (e.g., VATTEST).
  2. Select Yes if prompted with “There is no job queue entry yet for the schedule group of VATTEST. Do you want to create one?”
  3. Select Yes if prompted “A job queue entry has been made to help schedule this group of VATTEST. Do you want to see it?”
  4. Select Edit in the Job Queue Entry list.
  5. Set the schedule to run and select Set Status to Ready when ready to enable.
