Choice Sets let you define a standard collection of choices in one place and assign them to multiple options across your configurator item categories. You can create the choice set once and assign it wherever it is needed; the choices are replicated to each assigned option automatically. This is useful when the same set of choices (e.g., red, blue, green) appear in several different options or configurations.

Set Up Choice Sets

1. Navigate to the Choice Sets list page in Business Central.
2. Select New and modify the following fields:
   • Code: Enter a unique code or identifier for the choice set.
   • Description: Enter a meaningful name to distinguish it from other choice sets.
   • Choices Routing No.: If you plan to include operation type choices, specify this to link them to the choices routing lines.
   • Allow Option Choice Edit: Default value is No (individual option choices cannot be edited directly, changes must be made at the choice set level and pushed out using the update actions); you can set to Yes (users can edit individual option choices after they have been copied from the choice set).
3. Enter your choices in the lines below the general fields (the same process as entering option choices: specify the type, number, code, and any other relevant fields).

Assign Choice Sets to Options

1. Navigate to the Configurator Options page for the relevant category.
2. Locate the option you want to assign the choice set to and set the Choice Set Code field to the appropriate choice set.

Once assigned, the option choices automatically populate with the choices from that choice set.

Update assigned Choice Sets

1. Open the choice set from the Choice Sets list page and update the choices as needed.
2. Once the changes are saved, use one of the following actions in the ribbon to push the updates out:
   • Update Option Choices (All): Updates all option choices linked to this choice set, across every assigned category.
   • Update Option Choices (Selected): Updates only the choice set choices you currently have selected; use this if you have only changed one or two choices and do not need to update everything.
