Chain Multiple Pack Commands

Chain Multiple Pack Commands

You are here:
Starting in Dynamic Ship v2.2.2 for NAV (and 2.5 on Business Central) you can chain multiple shipping commands in the Package Worksheet for faster scanning. Instead of using the individual barcodes from the Pack Commands report you can make your own barcodes that contain various commands in a single line.
For example:
--NEW--PACKDETAIL
--PACKALL--GETLABEL
To enable chaining, set the “Chain Multiple Commands” option in Dynamic Ship Setup to “Enabled”.

On older versions, multiple pack commands can be combined into a single barcode by using a special separator character.

For Code39 barcodes, escape character /R (carriage return) can be placed between each command.

For example:

--NEW/R--PACKDETAIL
--PACKALL/R--GETLABEL
The separator character will vary depending on the type of barcode used and will require ASCII conversion to be enabled on the scanner.
