NavXtender can be installed as a stand-alone version or an integrated version. When integrating, NavXtender will use NAV’s native “Record Links”.

To use SharePoint with NavXtender, Microsoft’s OneDrive application can be used to sync files to SharePoint. This guide assumes NavXtender is already installed and configured to a shared storage location / server.

If NavXtender clients are having intermittent trouble accessing SharePoint via UNC: on the client machine, navigate to Services, and set the WebClient Service to Automatic.

The NavXtender button will only show on Pages/Cards, not the main window or Role Center.

Anti-virus solutions may interfere with NavXtender’s ability communicate with Dynamics NAV. Contact your Network Administrator to make an exception/rule.

Anybody who wants to use NavXtender needs to run the NavXtender executable. Users do not need to have it installed when accessing from a Network.  There are two ways to access and install the executable: Local and Network.

NavXtender will work with most custom pages, but in order for it to create record links, you need to modify the NavXtender codeunit so that it can recognize your custom page.

NavXtender natively support’s English (ENC/ENU), French Canada (FRC) and Spanish (ESP) at this time. In order for NavXtender to attach a link to a record for a different language, you (or your NAV Partner / Developer) will have to make some changes in the NavXtender Codeunit to add the translations.

This type of issue can be resolved via configuring some settings in IIS.

This error message is an authorization type error with the web service. This means that something is incorrectly configured, or you do not have permissions.

NavXtender is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit. The correct version to install is based on your NAV client being 32-bit or 64-bit and NOT on the version of your Windows operating system.

NavXtender does not require that any changes be made to your installation of Dynamics NAV for basic file association. To create record links when a file is dropped, you simply need to import a single new codeunit.

The only difference between the two versions of NavXtender is the integrated version creates “Record Links” within Dynamics NAV.
