API Log for Dynamic Ship

You are here:

The API Log is an investigation tool that can be enabled to determine what data is being sent to the Freight Integration Provider via the API call in Dynamic Ship. It is recommended that this Boolean remain disabled for normal everyday use as it can be resource intensive. Enable the API Log when capturing the outbound or inbound information being transmitted to the carrier for review and/or investigation and disable immediately after relevant information is obtained to maintain efficiency during shipping.

  1. Navigate to Dynamic Ship Setup in Business Central.
  2. Enter “LogApiRequests” (case sensitive) in the Extended Custom Configuration table under the Extensibility FastTab for the Template Key
  3. Set the Value field to “Yes” to enable (“No” to disable).
  4. Complete one shipment in Dynamic Ship with the Freight Integrator you choose.
  1. Navigate to the Freight Integration Providers page and highlight EasyPost.
  2. Select Related / API Log.
  3. Highlight a row and for each relevant transaction for investigation.
  4. Select View Payload or Export Payload for review by a developer.
  5. Disable LogApiRequests as per steps 1 through 3.

On the Dynamic Ship API Request Log, you can view every outbound and inbound payload record from the Freight Integration Provider. RESPONSE type Records are inbound transmissions; other record types (POST, GET, and more) are outbound transmissions.
